Which Certificates Wire Harness Involved?

1- Product Certification

 

RoHS

1. RoHS certification is a mandatory standard developed by the European Union. It is mainly used to regulate the material and process standards of electrical and electronic products, so that it is more conducive to human health and environmental protection. Rohs has been incorporated into the EU mandatory certification CE, generally only require a test report on it, but if the customer needs a certificate, you can also issue a CE certificate. It is mainly for the raw material of the product to be certified.

 

Reach

2-Reach is only a test report, there is no certificate, REACH certification is the EU regulation “Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Legal Goods”. It is mainly for the raw materials of the product to be certified.

 

Water-proof

3-Waterproof certification: First, we need to find out is the customer requirements of the material itself waterproof or design and manufacture of waterproof, which is our priority. About the material itself waterproof: the material itself waterproof means that the connector or wire and cable material can be used outdoors, will not be in the case of immersion in the physical deterioration. Manufacturing design waterproof: It means that after this product is designed and manufactured, this design will not enter water or dust, such as our common strain relief design.

 

UL

4-UL:  U.S. Security Laboratory certification, proving that the product meets U.S. safety standards. UL is mainly for North America, out of the U.S. harnesses are generally required to have UL certification of wires or cables, through the certification of the wires will have UL’s print.

 

Fire-Proof

5 – material fire certification: CMP, CMR refers to the outer being of the fire rating, mainly for cables, about the cable fire rating, the highest standard is CMP, it is the UL fire standards in the highest requirements.

2- Tests involved in Wire Harness

 

1-Electrical circuit test: All wiring harnesses have to go through a circuit test to make sure that each wire can be connected properly. No wrong wires or leakage of wires can be used.

2-Tension test: All products will do tension test before hitting the terminals to make sure that the terminals can reach the standard of crimping and make sure that they can meet the requirements of IPC620.

3-Salt spray test – this test is mainly for hardware, the hardware used on the wiring harness, all need to pass the salt spray test to ensure that it is corrosion resistant.

4-Automotive wiring harness gas tightness test: it is an important part of the automotive manufacturing process, the purpose is to ensure that the mechanical strength of the wiring harness to meet the requirements of the design, and can effectively prevent the hazards caused by gas leakage.

In the production process of wire harnesses, all QL wire harnesses have 100% circuit testing and tensile testing before hitting the terminals.

 

3- Certification of Our wire harness :

 

The following certifications are generally required to make wire harnesses:

1. ISO9001: It means Quality Management System Certification of the company, which proves that the company is capable of meeting the needs and expectations of its customers.

 

2-IATF16949: It is the standard for quality management system in automotive industry, which proves that the production process is in line with international standards and the quality system is perfect. Factories doing automotive wiring harnesses must be certified by IATF16949.

 

3-UL enterprise certification: enterprises to pass the UL certification standards is very difficult, generally only the raw materials of the product to meet UL standards.

 

 

4-ISO14001: It means Environmental Management System Certification, which proves that the enterprise has the ability to realize environmental protection and sustainable development.
